What running a firm's paid search covers
The written price lists which of these it includes, practice area by practice area, and what the first month is spent on.
Campaigns by practice area
Conveyancing, family, employment or private client, each in its own campaign with its own budget, so one costly area cannot quietly eat the spend meant for another.
Enquiry tracking
Calls, web forms and chat counted as enquiries and tied to the practice area that produced them, so partners can see which work the adverts are actually bringing in.
Search terms screened
Searches from job hunters, law students and people after free advice read weekly and excluded, because their clicks are charged at the same rate as a prospective client's.
Adverts for your sign-off
Copy drafted in plain terms and sent to the firm first. The firm answers for what its advertising says under its regulator's rules, so nothing goes live that a partner has not approved.
Landing pages
Where a practice area has no page that answers what the searcher typed, we point it out and suggest what the page needs, so paid clicks do not arrive on a general home page.
Figures by practice area
Spend, enquiries and cost per enquiry for each area every month, laid out so a partners' meeting can take it in quickly, with next month's plan alongside.
What happens next
| 01 | Name the practice areas you want more instructions in, the parts of the country you take clients from and a rough monthly budget. |
|---|---|
| 02 | We study the searches and rival firms in those areas, then send a fixed monthly fee with what it includes. |
| 03 | The firm decides. No campaign is built and no advert runs until a partner agrees. |
The team that runs this site also does the work it quotes for. It carries no advertising, no sponsored placement and no affiliate links, and no provider in the table has paid to be there or can pay to be removed. Every figure is read from the named provider's own public page on the date shown and is what that provider advertises, not a quote for your job. Prices move; check the source before you rely on a row.

How these figures were read, and how to cite them
Every row is a verbatim sentence read from the named source's own page through our fetch service on the date shown, hash-pinned to the stored read (the sha of the page's visible text; the raw page is mirrored to R2). 9 of the 31 named sources that could be read published a usable figure; 22 published none and are recorded as not published, never filled in; 13 could not be read (blocked, dead or unreachable) and count nowhere. The headline figures (median, minimum, maximum, quartiles) are over ONE figure per source in GBP (a source's median where its page yielded several accepted sentences), so N counts sources, never sentences; 141 candidate sentence(s) were refused by a reviewer with the reason recorded. Derivation as chartered: one row per specialist agency: the fee model it publishes (flat retainer, percentage of ad spend, one-off plus retainer), the entry fee, the minimum ad spend and any setup fee, split by discipline (PPC, SEO, both); across the board, the median and range of the entry retainer for a law firm against the same figures for a generalist agency, which is the LEGAL PREMIUM - what a firm pays for sector specialism - and is the figure no guide in this market computes. The share of specialists publishing a fee at all is reported beside it.

Common questions
How much does PPC for law firms cost?
We read 63 providers that market law firms or run paid search, and 28 list a fee, 32 figures in all. Their median is £822.50 a month and the middle half fall between £370 and £1,500 (read 1 November 2026). Looking only at the 19 fees for PPC management alone, the median is £450. Whatever the fee, the clicks themselves are billed by Google on top. Our figure comes once your practice areas have been reviewed, and the firm has it in writing before committing.(Law Firm Marketing Fee Index: every row, with its source)
How much does a solicitors PPC agency charge?
The agencies that name law firms publish from £750 a month (MagnifyLab and GrowthLine), £895 (The Legal Lab), £1,100 (Footprint Digital) and around £1,500 (RankMyFirm), read 1 November 2026. General PPC agencies publish less: the 19 PPC-only fees in the index have a median of £450, from £125 to £1,650. Either way the management fee is separate from what Google charges for clicks.(Law Firm Marketing Fee Index: every row, with its source)
Is legal PPC different from PPC for other businesses?
In two ways. A law firm's adverts must meet its regulator's rules, such as the SRA's, and the advertising codes the ASA applies, so every advert goes to the firm for approval before it runs. And the work is split by practice area: conveyancing, family and employment enquiries behave differently and get their own campaigns and budgets.
Should a firm use a legal PPC agency or a general one?
A specialist knows the practice areas and the rules on what a firm's adverts may say; a general agency is usually cheaper. On published fees the specialists start at £750 to £895 a month against a £450 median for PPC-only fees (read 1 November 2026). What matters more than the label is whether the agency reports on enquiries and instructions, not only clicks.(Law Firm Marketing Fee Index: every row, with its source)
How is pay per click for lawyers charged?
As two separate bills. Google charges the firm for each click on its advert, from the firm's own account. The agency charges a management fee, usually a fixed monthly sum; some charge a share of spend instead, such as Clear Click's 10 to 20 per cent (read 1 November 2026). Ask which model a quote uses before comparing two.(Law Firm Marketing Fee Index: every row, with its source)
Can you run Google Ads for law firms across several practice areas?
Yes. Each practice area gets its own campaign and budget, so a costly area such as personal injury cannot use up the money meant for wills or conveyancing, and the firm can see what each area costs per enquiry.
Who makes sure our adverts follow the rules for legal advertising?
Your firm does, and the process is built around that. Your regulator, such as the SRA, BSB or CLC, and the advertising codes the ASA applies set what a firm's adverts may say, and the firm is answerable for them. So every advert is sent to you before it runs. We do not give legal or compliance advice.
What does the firm need to send for a price?
Your website, the practice areas you want to grow, where your clients tend to come from and roughly what you can spend each month. If the firm already advertises, access to that Google Ads account lets us price from what is in it.
Is our enquiry kept confidential?
Yes. We own this site and would run the campaigns ourselves, and we are the only party that reads the firm's enquiry. No other agency, lead broker or referral service receives it.
How long before the adverts bring in instructions?
Adverts can appear as soon as they are approved, but the early weeks go on learning which searches turn into instructions and cutting the ones that do not. Expect to judge the campaigns over a few months rather than a few weeks.
